Art is on the Menu!

I recently came across a cool article featured in The Guardian's food section about Edible Art and it really made me smile because it's about what I love, a perfect combination when Art meets food!

The Art fund wants us to make edible copies of masterpieces from artists such as Mondrian, Van Gogh and Damien Hirst... to raise funds for British museums and galleries. What a great idea!

I'm not sure about which challenge I want to go for. Right now, I'm thinking about creating a series of 'light Matisse cupcakes' or a 'scrumptious and delicious Rothko dessert.

Which masterpiece would you reproduce?

To find out more about how to create copies of great artworks you can eat, visit www.artfund.org/edible

Need some inspiration? Why not to have a go at one of my Artworks? ;-)
May I suggest a 'sweet shoe', a 'hot dog' or a 'very British cup of tea'.

My 'likes' from London Fashion Week AW14

Fashion week AW14 comes to an end and has given us lots of inspiration..

It's been another incredible week in London, full of amazing designers revealing their carefully crafted art pieces for the world to see. From Burberry, Versace and Vera Wang to Mimi Fasi, Mary Katrantzou and Matthew Williamson, London fashion week has been truly inspiring.

Christopher Kane and Peter Pilotto were just two of many designers who caught my attention with there abstract and eye catching creations. AW14 seems to be all about eye popping and 'mix and match' colours, textures and shapes.

It's a great find. I have always loved geometry and abstract patterns and I'm currently working on pattern designs for a new stationery collection and also on textiles... loving it!

These designers have created something so innovative and fresh. Christopher Kane's intricate origami-style dress, is reminiscent of a book with the pages being flicked through... simply stunning!

Brand new day, brand new blog!

For the last three and a half years, I have been working with passion on my brand 'Dominique Vari', where I explore and create new design styles to bring a breath of fresh, colourful air in everyone's life.

These creations mature and become collections of all sorts, from greetings cards and stationery to wall art, lifestyle products and a whole lot more...

After a fantastic 2013, I started the New Year with four lovely product launches in North America and Europe. After three and a half years of hard but fun work, I can finally take the time to share what I do with all of you.

I have decided to commit to this blog, where I'll keep you up to date with my news and my views, and share some of my work and ideas.

Most importantly, I'd love to know what you think,
what you like, what you don't like and what you'd like to see :-)

Today is a new beginning... the best is yet to come!
